WOW!!!....Photos Of The Magnificient AKWA IBOM Stadium In Uyo

The people of Akwa Ibom are all out to embrace the new transformation that is evidently coming their way in few hours’ time.




Uyo, the state capital will be opening a new chapter in the history of sports in Nigeria as the governor of the state, Godswill Akpabio will tomorrow the 7th of November will be opening the Akwa IbomInternational Stadium which has been nicknamed the Nest of Champions.

The edifice is modelled after the Allianz Arena in Germany, the home ground of reigning German Champions Bayern Munich, the Stadium boasts 4 -tier, covered, seating terrace, all-natural grass, high-tech floodlights and security cameras, 36 emergency exits, bullet proof VVIP and VIP along with other ultra-modern facilities.

The about-to-be-commissioned sporting edifice is an Olympic Sized stadium with a 30,000 capacity ultra modern complex that is already regarded as the best in the West African region and compared with South Africa’s Soccer city.

The stadium will be opened with a friendly match between long time rivals, Super Eagles of Nigeria and Black Stars of Ghana onFriday, November 7 at 3pm, with notable dignitaries from all over in attendance.

President Goodluck Jonathan together with other iconic figures such as Brazilian soccer legend Pele will be special guests of honor at the inauguration of the Akwa Ibom Stadium when it opens.
