Downtown Promotion is set to host the maiden edition of the Most Beautiful Girl in Lasu, with the acronym Mbgasu2014. The Mbglasu is different from the existing Miss Lasu.
According to the philosophical origin of beauty pageant, Mbglasu would mainly focus on the physical attributes unlike the Miss Lasu that promotes a wholesome girl-next door image, with modern elegance that represent the image of the university at all levels.
The maiden edition is organised by the Downtown Promotion in conjunction with the Lagos State University Students’ Union LASUSU. The objective of the pageant is to enlighten youth socio˗economic lifestyle for a brighter and rewarding future, to create an avenue for social interaction among youths of the institution, and to expose the youth to their innate abilities and potentials. The Downtown Promotion boss, Ayorinde Abiodun S. (Effizy), a Project Manager Professional (PMP) said ‘’the aim of the pageant is to fostering socio˗cultural relationship among students of the prestigious university through creation of a more vibrant social environment which have the capacity of providing a template for a formidable future especially among the females’’. The maiden edition winner goes home with an all-expense paid trip to Dubai package, an official car to any official outing for a year, represent LASU at the Miss University Nigeria and so many other consolation prizes.
