UK Group are worried about the rescue of abducted Chibok girls

The British High Commission is worried over the delay in the rescue of the 219 Chibok schoolgirls, who had been in Boko Haram captivity since April 14, says the BringBackOurGirls group. The commission said the British Foreign Minister, is writing a report, which would dwell on the plight of the girls. A Co-coordinator of the BringBackOurGirls coalition, Hadiza Usman, said a senior mission official stated this when a delegation of the movement visited the embassy in Abuja on Wednesday. According to her, the commission expressed concern over the Nigerian military and its level of human right violations in the northeast. She said,
“We were received by the deputy high commissioner of the British high commission, he apologised for the absence of the High Commissioner.
“He said the British high commission is welcome to engagement and they would like to discuss with us. They have an open door policy with the #BringBackOurGirls, although we had sent them a letter, they claimed not to have received it and we would have subsequent meetings with them.
“Regarding our questions, we had raised concerns about the rescue operations, providing information and also to what extent has their support yielded or not yielded a result.
“They briefed us on the fact that their rescue operations is challenged in view of the fact that there is limitation to what kind of partnership they can do with the Nigerian military; they mentioned that their support is in two components intelligence provision which is a form of air surveillance without any foot solders working with the Nigeria military.”
